
Who can Join?
- Teens ages 13 to 21 years with disabilities that affect community access
- Teens who are medically stable
- Teens who are able to communicate via verbal language, picture board or any argumentative device
- Teens who are able to understand, follow and cooperate with rules and instructions in a group setting
What are the Benefits?
- To have opportunities to make new friends
- To give and receive support from peers
- To share experiences and stories
- To have a sense of independence
- Older members can be peer mentors and participate in event planning, writing newspaper articles, etc.
What do we do?
- Trips to Point Pleasant
- Power boat rides in Seaside, NJ
- Trips to the movie theater
- Shopping at the mall
- Broadway Musicals in NYC
- Trips to the museum
- Theme based parties (i.e. Mardi Gras)
- Annual sleep over
- Annual haunted trail
- Other activities
